น้อง Thor เป็นแมวเพศผู้สายพันธุ์เปอร์เซีย เจ้าของพามาตรวจสุขภาพหลังจากรับมาเลี้ยงได้ประมาณ 5 วัน จากการตรวจครั้งแรกพบว่าน้องมี เชื้อราที่บริเวณแขนขวา และมีไรในหู จึงได้รับการรักษาเป็น ยาหยอดหู ยาหยดหลังป้องกันปรสิตภายนอก และสเปรย์พ่นผิวหนังสำหรับรักษาเชื้อรา กลับไปดูแลต่อที่บ้าน

แต่เพียง 3 วันหลังจากนั้น น้อง Thor ถูกพากลับมาที่โรงพยาบาลอีกครั้งด้วยอาการ ซึมและอาเจียน หลังจากทำการตรวจเพิ่มเติม พบว่าน้องติดเชื้อ ไวรัสไข้หัดแมว (Feline Panleukopenia) ซึ่งเป็นโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสที่มีความรุนแรง และมีโอกาสเสียชีวิตสูง โดยเฉพาะในลูกแมวที่ยังไม่ได้รับวัคซีน

น้อง Thor ต้อง แอดมิทรักษาอยู่ที่โรงพยาบาลเป็นเวลาประมาณ 2 สัปดาห์ ในช่วงแรกของการรักษา อาการของน้องอยู่ในภาวะวิกฤตและมีความเสี่ยงต่อการเสียชีวิตสูง ทีมสัตวแพทย์และพยาบาลจึงต้องดูแลอย่างใกล้ชิดตลอดเวลา

ตลอดช่วงเวลานั้น ทั้งน้อง Thor และเจ้าของต่างก็ไม่ยอมแพ้ ร่วมกันต่อสู้กับโรคร้ายไปกับทีมรักษาอย่างเต็มที่ จนในที่สุดน้องก็สามารถ ผ่านพ้นโรคไข้หัดแมวมาได้

อย่างไรก็ตาม โรคนี้ทำให้ร่างกายของน้องอ่อนแอและภูมิคุ้มกันลดลง หลังจากหายจากไข้หัดแมวแล้ว น้องยังต้องเผชิญกับ โรคหวัดแมว ซึ่งทำให้น้องมีแผลที่ลิ้น เจ็บปาก และเชื้อราที่ผิวหนังลุกลามมากขึ้น โดยเฉพาะบริเวณ ใบหน้าและหูทั้งสองข้าง

แม้จะต้องเผชิญกับโรคหลายอย่างต่อเนื่อง แต่น้อง Thor ก็ยังคงเข้มแข็ง และค่อย ๆ ผ่านการรักษาจนหายดีทั้งหมด

ปัจจุบันน้อง Thor โตเป็นหนุ่มแข็งแรงแล้ว และเพิ่งกลับมาที่โรงพยาบาลเพื่อ ทำหมันเรียบร้อยแล้ว ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งเรื่องราวของลูกแมวตัวเล็ก ๆ ที่ต่อสู้กับโรคร้ายและผ่านมันมาได้อย่างน่าประทับใจ

Case Story from the Vet: Thor, the Little Fighter

Thor is a male Persian cat who first visited our hospital for a health check about five days after being adopted by his owner. During the initial examination, we found that he had a fungal infection on his right forelimb and ear mites. Thor was treated with ear drops, a topical parasite prevention treatment, and an antifungal skin spray before returning home.

However, three days later, Thor was brought back to the hospital with symptoms of lethargy and vomiting. After further testing, he was diagnosed with Feline Panleukopenia, a severe and highly contagious viral disease that carries a high mortality rate, especially in kittens that have not yet been vaccinated.

Thor was admitted to the hospital for about two weeks. During the early stage of treatment, his condition was critical and he was at high risk of not surviving. Our veterinary team and nurses closely monitored and cared for him throughout this challenging period.

Despite the difficulties, Thor and his owner never gave up. With dedicated care and continuous treatment, Thor eventually recovered from Feline Panleukopenia.

Because this disease can significantly weaken the immune system, Thor later developed cat flu, which caused painful mouth ulcers and tongue lesions, along with a worsening fungal skin infection, especially around his face and both ears.

Even after facing multiple illnesses, Thor remained incredibly strong and gradually recovered from all of them.

Today, Thor has grown into a healthy young cat and recently returned to our hospital to undergo neutering. His journey is a touching reminder of how resilience, proper treatment, and the dedication of both owners and veterinary teams can help a tiny kitten overcome serious illness.
